Our packaging policy is designed to meet Indian regulatory requirements (FSSAI, Spices Board of India) and international food safety & shipping standards (including HACCP, ISO 22000 principles and buyer-specific demands in EU, USA, Middle East, and other markets).

Core Objectives of Our Packaging Policy

• Protect the volatile oils, essential Flavors, and natural characteristics of every spice during storage, transit, and shelf life (often 12–24 months depending on format).
• Prevent moisture ingress, oxygen exposure, light degradation, microbial contamination, insect infestation, and physical damage.
• Ensure full traceability, hygienic integrity, and compliance with global import regulations.
• Offer flexible, customer-centric formats for B2B bulk, private-label retail, and food-service needs.
• Minimize environmental impact where feasible without compromising product safety and quality.

Packaging Materials & Methods

We use only food-grade, non-toxic, and approved materials that comply with FSSAI, EU Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004, US FDA, and other relevant standards.

Bulk / Export Packaging (Primary & Secondary)

• Inner liner / primary barrier — multi-layer laminated pouches or bags (e.g., PET/AL/PE, BOPP/PE) with excellent moisture and oxygen barrier properties.
• Options for enhanced protection — Vacuum sealing, nitrogen flushing (to displace oxygen), or modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) — especially for high-value ground spices and blends.
• Outer packaging — New, clean, double-stitched or sealed polypropylene / HDPE woven bags (often poly-lined), or food-grade multi-wall kraft paper bags with inner PE liner.
• For larger volumes — 25 kg or 50 kg bags; jumbo/FIBC bags (500–1000 kg) with food-grade liners when requested.
• All bags are tamper-evident sealed and stitched (or heat-sealed) to prevent pilferage or contamination.

Retail / Private-Label Packaging

• Stand-up pouches, zipper pouches, or rigid jars/tins with tamper-evident seals and resealable features.
• Materials: Metallized films, clear PET windows (where visibility is desired), or fully opaque barriers for maximum aroma retention.
• Custom sizes: 50 g, 100 g, 250 g, 500 g, 1 kg — printed with high-resolution rotogravure or flexographic printing.

Secondary / Shipping Packaging

• Corrugated fibreboard cartons (5-ply or 7-ply for sea freight durability).
• Palletized shipments wrapped in stretch film with corner protectors and edge boards.
• All pallets are fumigated/heat-treated (ISPM-15 compliant) when required for wooden pallets.

Key Quality & Safety Commitments

• Moisture control — Final product moisture kept well below Codex/Spices Board limits; packaging maintains <12–13% throughout shelf life.
• No harmful substances — No recycled materials in direct contact; no phthalates, heavy metals, or banned additives.
• Hygiene & cleanliness — Packaging done in HACCP-monitored, pest-controlled, temperature/humidity-controlled areas. All materials are stored sealed and used FIFO.
• Tamper evidence & security — Every pack carries visible seals; bulk bags double-stitched with numbered tags.
• Sustainability efforts — Preference for recyclable or high-barrier recyclable films where quality is not compromised; minimal single-use plastics in secondary packaging.

Labelling Compliance

Every package (primary and secondary) carries mandatory declarations in English (and additional languages as per destination country requirements):

• Product name (common & scientific where applicable)
• Net weight / quantity
• Batch / Lot number
• Manufacturing / Packing date
• Best Before / Expiry date
• Ingredient list (for blends)
• Country of origin: “Product of India”
• Name & address of manufacturer / exporter: VLZ Elite Exports LLP, Hyderabad, India
• FSSAI License number
• Importer details (if pre-printed for private label)
• Storage instructions
• Allergen declarations (if relevant)
• Barcode / QR code linking to traceability info (upon request)
